verfassten sie in ihrer freien Zeit neue Lieder Vermutlich in einem Gedichtband fand Carter die Passage Love is like a burning ring of fire Zusammen mit Kilgore begann sie diese Zeile in einen neuen Song einzubauen den sie zunachst Love s Fiery Ring nannten 1 Ihre Schwester Anita Carter befand sich zu dieser Zeit im Tonstudio um eine LP aufzunehmen Zur Komplettierung fehlte ihr noch ein Lied das sie von June Carter erbat Carter und Kilgore brauchten nur noch wenig Zeit um das Fragment zu vollenden Der Text des Refrains lautet I fell into a burning ring of fire I went down down down And the
