Die Naumann Thienemann Medaille ist ein jahrlich von der Societas Internationalis Limnologiae SIL verliehener seit 1977 in der Regel jahrlich international vergebener Preis fur Limnologie Er ist die hochste Auszeichnung der Gesellschaft und ging aus der Naumann Medaille hervor die in unregelmassigen Abstanden seit 1942 verliehen wurde Sie ist zu Ehren von Einar Naumann und August Thienemann der auch erster Preistrager war benannt und wird in Ausnahmefallen auch an Organisationen verliehen Sie hat den Zusatz De limnologia optime merito lateinisch fur hervorragende Verdienste in der Limnologie
