Geschichte

Das Album wurde 2008 in den Hollywood Hills aufgenommen. Es wurde von Sean Beavan koproduziert, der schon die Alben Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals und Eat Me, Drink Me mixte. Außerdem waren Brian Warner und Chris Vrenna als Co-Produzenten beteiligt. Ende März 2009 wurden die ersten Stücke vorgestellt. Die erste Single Arma Goddamn Motherf*ckin' Geddon erschien am 14. Mai 2009. Das Album ist das erste seit Holy Wood (In The Shadow of the Valley of Death) Album mit Bassist Twiggy Ramirez.

Kritiken

Die BBC schrieb, das Album biete einen gezielten satirischen Kommentar auf das "ungezogene Amerika": "Best of all is We're From America, where Manson fully lives up to his occasionally over-hyped reputation as an intelligently scabrous lyricist."
