Vielfach wird diese Funktion vom Wirtschaftsministerium, oder einem Infrastruktur- oder allgemeinem Bauministerium wahrgenommen. Speziellere Industrieministerien sind etwa Energieministerien (Energieproduktion) oder Bergbauministerien.
